Sympathy Card

Another week has ended! Time seems to go by so much faster when you are older. We had a busy day today; running errands; getting an hour’s walk in; getting groceries. Tired.

I seem to make a lot of sympathy cards. Unfortunately it is the one type of card that is sent the most often. My own brother-in-law has had another major stroke and is not expected to recover from this one. He is 87 and has been in a nursing home for a couple of years and has told his family many times that he is ready to leave. So, he has been on my mind of course so I made this card.

This was a very quick card to make. I found this dark blue paper in the stash and paired it with the light marbled greyish/purple paper which I die cut to fit on top; but off-sided.

Then I used a left over piece to stamp and emboss the sentiment on it and glued it across. Then a paper flower (Dollar store find) was added. I like how it turned out…simple but nice.

That’s all for a cold Friday, January 11, 2019. Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I’ll be back on Monday with another post.

Cheers

Violet

  1. Violet i'am so sorry to hear about your Brother in Law. For years i had a dear older friend and although she never said it out loud i think once her husband passed she had no reason to live. She was tired. She lost interest in anything she used to like to do. I feel for him and for you.

I just love this simple card Violet. Sometimes simple is just perfect.

Cold here too.. Rainy but not quite cold enough for snow or ice.. Probably a blessing since i must drive to work in the morning.. Try to stay warm. Hugs! deb
