A Snowman Card

We are having some pretty typical and nice fall weather right now…very cold at night but no frost yet. It’s hard to know how to dress for the day though…. some people are still wearing T-shirts; some long sleeve shirts; some jackets or sweaters…. so its pretty much step out on the porch and judge for your self….and dress in layers.

Today’s card is another scrappy background card and I used the other die cut piece left over from yesterday’s card.

I used the same method of creating that striped background as I did yesterday – glued down strips of paper on a piece of scrap paper and then die cut it. I used some shiny greenish paper I found in the stash that almost matches the snowman’s hat; stuck it behind that white frame (this is the piece left over from yesterday’s card); mounted it on red cardstock and then on to a 5.5” white card base. The snowman was a peel-off and very flat colours on very thin paper….. which is why it was in my stash for so long. So first it was glued to white cardstock to make it thicker and I cut around it; then I laid it on the VersaMark ink pad and made sure it was well covered in VersaMark ink and then sprinkled on clear embossing powder and heat set it. What a difference! The colours are more vibrant now. The other stickers will be getting this same treatment now.

Then the snowman was laid, face down, on a piece of white foam and I cut around it and glued it to the foam and then onto the card – great flat dimension! The red fish tail banner (Aliexpress die) was die cut out of the same red as the white and was then mounted with a dimensional glue strip. The sentiment was two peel-offs with a gold peel-off dot between them.

That’s all for a sunny but with a cool wind blowing Wednesday, October 9, 2019.

Cheers

Violet
