A Circle Card

The mild weather has deserted us! Brrrrrr. However, it’s going to get mild again tomorrow but lots of rain coming with it.   We’ve had more rain than snow this winter and that’s very good as far as we’re concerned…..we don’t have to pay the neighbour to clear the driveway from rain! We were able to go for a walk around the neighbourhood the last few days and it was nice to be able to walk outside with out slipping on ice. Usually in the winter we have to drive to the arena and walk around the upstairs area….its free and safe but so boring. I told Joe I always feel like a hamster in a wheel when we walk there – we go round and round and round but never get anywhere – he just gives me ‘the look’ and shakes his head. We decided to take the day off today.

Anyway, enough about the weather, on to the card. I had some old greeting cards given to me and most of them I can’t use but parts of this one I decided to salvage.

The yellow sentiment square and the patterned paper behind it were the parts from an old greeting card. The sentiment was die cut with a stitched square die. I happened to have some scallop circle card bases that I never used so I decided it was time to use them up as well. So, the patterned part of the old greeting card was die cut with a scalloped die to match the circle die…..But it needed something behind it so I dug through the yellow stash and found that bright yellow paper and die cut it with a larger scalloped die. Then it was simple matter of gluing the layers down – oh, oh, I didn’t like it. Boring. It just needed something to make it pop so I found this dimensional glittery butterfly in the butterfly stash….yes, I have a butterfly stash.. and it was just what it needed. I was going to save this card for someone in my family but a friend happened to see it and I couldn’t say no to her so it’s gone. I think I may try to duplicate this pattern even if I have to use new cardstock instead of an old greeting card.

        That’s all for a cold Wednesday, January 08, 2020.

Cheers

Violet
