Holy Cow Card

        The holiday season is over and everything is finally getting back to normal. When Christmas and then New Years Day falls on a Wednesday it makes it confusing to know what day it is…. at least it does for us. I was constantly checking the calendar. We had a very green Christmas – the warmest Christmas ever and it’s still way above normal temperatures which is fine with us. It’s more like a March day here but this too shall pass and the cold air is on its way.

        So this is the first card for 2020 and it’s a belated birthday card that I dreamed up. It’s a bit different but that’s how I roll. 

         I was thinking of what people say when they forget something and ‘holy cow’ popped into my mind so I went with that. I have this cow stamp that worked perfectly. It was stamped and coloured and then I hand cut it – no matching die for this one…its been around long before matching dies came along. So once is was cut out I had to find a way to make a halo…its an angel cow after all  – look closely around her ears – yup, a gold halo made from two small punches. Then she needed wings – a butterfly die cut from embossed paper worked just fine. She was then glued to the cloud paper - continuing with the angel cow idea.  I didn’t want the cloud paper to cover the entire card so a matching strip of striped paper was glue to the bottom of the cloud paper. The sentiments are computer generated and then die cut with a fishtail banner die. Okay, I admit, this card will not be everybody’s cup of tea but it makes me smile so we’ll see if anyone else likes it.
