Using the cut off piece

After a couple beautiful spring days the rain came back last night and will be with us until tomorrow night. We cannot seem to have more than two nice days in a row. We did enjoy long walks in a small bush lot on the edge of town while it was nice though and saw a few migratory birds and lots of wild flowers. It was just nice to be outside walking in the bush again. We are still observing self-isolation here in Canada so even though we can go for a walk in a few places; everyone is still staying the required six feet away from each other. We are flattening the curve a bit so we shall continue to self-isolate as long as it takes.
On Monday I posted a ‘floating frame’ card and the piece that was cut out of the middle was left over. I hate to just toss these bits in the garbage or recycle bin so I decided I had to make another card with it. Here’s what I came up with.
I looked through my stash and found this marbled pink on cream cardstock and then a plain pink one….they match better in real life than the camera shows. The flowers look purple in the photo but they are really pink….darn lighting where I photograph the cards mess up the colours.
Anyway, I die cut the stitched rectangle frame and placed it over the left over piece. Then the pink strip was added to the cream/pink marbled cardstock with a M.S. punched lace glued down the centre of the pink. Thin gold strips were glued down along the edges of the pink strip. Then the framed flowers were glued on. A gold peel-off birthday sentiment was added. To bring some gold into the centre frame, small bits of gold peel-offs were added. Wink of Stella was added to the middle of the flowers. Then it was all glued to a pink card base.
        That’s all for a rainy Tuesday, April 29, 2020.
Cheers
Violet
