Hospice Cards

Our hot and humid weather broke last night so the A/C went off and the windows got opened. We had a much needed and enjoyable walk this morning. It looks like the hot and humid weather may return over the weekend but hopefully not as bad as we just had…..but it’s still better than cold and snow!

Our city has a hospice and on the first year anniversary of someone who die there, they like to send a ‘thinking of you’ card to the family….and of course hand crafted cards are better than store bought ones. One of our Stampin’ Up dealers, The Pampered Stamper – 4th highest sales in Canada –check her out on Facebook, YouTube and the blog (and tell her Crafty Violet sent you) – is a big contributor of cards for them but recently asked if anyone else wanted to contribute some. Of course I said yes and these are the cards I donated today.

The background was made by dipping the cardstock in various colours of Distress Inks...and maybe Distress Oxides. The image is an old Stampin' Up stamp. The sentiment and image were stamped using the Tim Holtz stamping platform so I could stamp multiple times to get a good impression. The ribbon should have been up just a little bit but once it was down, it wasn't moving.
More Distress inking and more stamping.

More of the same. This one is actually more pink but the camera didn't pick it up very well.

The next few cards were made by gluing left over strips to plain paper and then gluing them to the card base and then adding the embellishments.

Another scrappy card using left over strips but this time I glued them first to a piece of yellow paper and left a gap between them.

More strips but this time once the strips were glued down they were run through an embossing folder. This sentiment was a die cut - cut 3 times and glued together.

        That’s all for a sunny Wednesday, June-24-20 20.

Cheers

Violet
