Using Double Sided Cardstock

The dreaded heat wave continues! It’s so hot and humid it’s ridiculous. They keep predicting thunderstorms but they keep passing us by. We could use another good rain.

A couple of weeks ago I was pleased to report that our city had no new COVID cases and there were only a couple of people that were almost over it and they had been self-isolating the entire time. Unfortunately it was a short lived report as we are now up to about 33 cases. Why? Because someone went to work in another city that is still battling it and became infected, that’s why. Before that person knew he was infected it, it was passed on to all the immediate family members; who then shared it with extending family who shared it with their extended family…..and on and on. Get the picture? This pandemic is so contagious and I certainly hope all of you are taking every precaution to stay safe.

Tonight after supper I decided I felt like making some cards. I was looking through my pink/brown stash and saw this 12x12 piece of double –sided cardstock that I just felt like using. I ended up making four full cards, plus the left over rectangle on another card and I have four circles yet to use. That’s a lot of cards from one piece of paper.

Here’s one of the cards.

First thing I did, after cutting the cardstock down to 4”x5 ¼”, was to cut a circle near the top. Then I took another piece and die cut that circle frame from the back side of the cardstock. The rose is from an old greeting card and it was very bright. I placed some velum over it and it looked so much nicer I decided to place it in the card that way. It looks a lot more muted in the photo than it does in real life. The banner was die cut and the gold peel-off sentiment added. This was a quick and easy card. I ended making two of them the same but with a different flower in the circle. These will likely go to the hospice.

That’s all for a hot and humid Wednesday on July 22, 2020.

Cheers

Violet
