Halloween Fun Card

We just had a lovely week of summer-like temperatures and it is to continue over the weekend as well. We took advantage of it and did a lot of the garden clean up….which is nowhere as much fun as planting the flowers in the spring but it had to be done. Today was a nice long walk in the bush which we really enjoyed too.

I have another Halloween card to share with you.

I love these images from Tim Holtz and all the crazy sentiments that come with it. The background was made the same way as the other Halloween cards that I recently posted – feel free to back to see them – with Distress Dusty Concord   and Black Soot sponged around the edges. This time I put a mask where I wanted the moon to be and used watered down white acrylic paint to the moon. Then the moon was covered up and the stars were stamped. The stars were coloured in again with watered down Black Soot Distress Ink but this time I added a small dot from a sparkly gel pen to some of them. I stamped some bushes at the bottom of the card. The bird was stamped right on the card and then again on a piece of white cardstock that I quickly coloured and hand cut – no dies for these ones. It was glued over top of the original stamping so all the little dots and extra bits are there which would be impossible to hand cut. The tree limbs came from another die set and they were die cut twice from brown cardstock; glued together; and then dark brown ink was brushed around the edges. The bones were die cut from another one of T.H.’s sets and I piled them high as if the bird ate the flesh from them….gory I know but its Halloween! The label was die cut with the sentiment embossed in white and it was adhered with a dimensional glue strip.

That’s all for Friday, September-25-20 20. I do hope you all have a safe and creative weekend.

Cheers

Violet
