Here is a Halloween card that I made for one of  my grandsons.

The background was made by smooshing paper through various Distress inks. I’m pretty sure smooshing is not a word but its the best I could come up with to describe how to do it. Smear Distress Inks on a surface - I used the T.H. crafting platform’s plastic part - Spray with water and lay the paper down and turn it a bit…and you have smooshing. Dry the paper. Re smoosh! Repeat as many times as you like until get the desired look….I liked to try to get the inside lighter than the outside. Splatter on plain water; let it sit for a few seconds and then place a clean cloth or rag over the top to dry - you get those lovely circles and blotchy bits. Love it.

The creature…not really sure what it is…is a T. Holtz release from 2019 I think. I coloured it with alcohol markers and then smooshed it (there’s that word again) into the VersaMark ink pad; sprinkled it with clear embossing powder and heat set it. Then I hand cut it. No dies for this set.

The background had a lot of purple in it so I chose to mount it on purple; then onto the designer paper; and then onto the green card base. The creature was glued in place.  I stamped the bag he is eating out of twice; and heat embossed it as well; cut it out and it was glued over top of the original one to add some dimension. It doesn’t show on the card but in real life, there is dimension.

The sentiments were computer generated and are mounted on black. The candy corns were die cut using a very  old die.  My grandson loved his card and his mom says he keeps walking around the house saying, “I come for candy. I’ll haunt you later”….over and over…ooops, sorry about that part!

That’s all for Tuesday, October 19, 2021.10.19

Cheers
