Silhouettes on a Card

Happy Thanksgiving to all my visitors from the U.S.A. and to everyone else, Happy Thursday! It’s been raining here most of the day so it was quilting and card making for me today.

Here is one of my favourite cards I have made this year.

This is a 5 1/2” x 5 1/2” card which does not require extra postage in Canada. The background paper and the worded paper is from a very old Tim Holtz 8” x 8” paper pack. The two silhouette images were die cut twice and glued together to make them thicker. The sky started out as white cardstock which was inked with several layers and a few colours of blue ink to get a variety of colours merged as one. Then white diluted paint was splattered on for snow. The lady needed something to stand on so I cut a curve in a piece of white cardstock to be a snow bank…. and having the light pole be behind it make it appear in the background. A piece of dark blue ribbon was added down the left side; taped at the back to hold in place; and some die cut holly leaves were glued on and then the circle sentiment was glued in place. After looking at it for a couple of days I decided the light pole needed a red bow so it was die cut and added.

That’s all for a rainy Thursday, November 25, 2021.

  Cheers

Violet

PS: To save a card to your Pinterest account, simply hover over the image until the ‘Pin It” symbol appears and then click…it sometimes takes a few seconds. This will take you to your own Pinterest account to save the card.
