Boys and their Dogs Card

It still on the cold to very cold side here in Ontario. It was supposed to be sunny and close to 60F last Sunday so we headed out to Point Pelee National Park to do some hiking and birding. Good job I followed Joe’s suggestion of throwing our winter coats in the car….just in case. This is me at the most southern tip of Canada. Does it look like it’s sunny and hot? Anything but!

The entire day was a bust as far as seeing a lot of migratory birds BUT one bird made it worthwhile. We actually had a Hooded Warbler about 3 feet from us. This is a rare visitor to Ontario and everyone seemed to be looking for it. Here’s a couple photos of it.

Tomorrow is one of our grandson’s birthday. This is the card I made for him.

The two things he loves most is trains - especially old steam engines - and dogs! He loves dogs. He got a puppy last year for his birthday and he and that dog are inseparable. The dog was so used to being with him all day, every day last year because the school was virtual, that she was so forlorn when in-class learning started, it was sad….she was staring out the window looking for him and then she would lay down and pout. So I pulled out the old Tim Holtz stamps and dies and made him a dog card. The background paper has birthday ribbons and flecks through it and its mounted on a green card base. Then two pieces of paper I found in the stash were added on an angle and then the dog was glued on. The dog was coloured with both markers and pencils.  The bone, ball and leash were all part of the die set. The sentiment was computer generated which was attached with a dimensional strip.

That’s all for a cold Wednesday, May 4, 2022.

 Cheers

Violet
