Our hot and humid days lasted two and a half days …. and then the storm hit! It was a doozy of a storm too! Lots of trees and power lines down and a few thousand without hydro… but luckily no injuries. We escaped the worst of the storm but just the other side of the city got hit hard. Since then, the windows are open and the days are just lovely!
Today’s card is one I made as a ‘possible’ for my grandson’s birthday but Grampa picked a different one for him.
The background was just white cardstock and the first thing I did was sponge some ink along the bottom left corner - light orange (likely Spiced Marmalade) and some darker one which I think was Distress Rusty Hinge. A Stampin’ Up Grunge stamp was used to add some texture - I think that is the blue blobs and some small stars using Distress Tumbled Glass. Then I picked the colour of the stars and banners I wanted and die cut them all out. The edges were inked with Distress Black Soot to continue with the grunge theme. Then some ink using splattered some of the same ink as used on the background. The banners were stamped with a variety of birthday sentiments. Once I liked how the stars and banners looked, they were all glued down. It was glued to a card base made from the same dark wine as the banner and stars. Then I decided it needed a little more and the three glass dew drops were added to the top left corner.
That’s all for a lovely Friday, June 3, 2022. Have a safe and creative weekend all. I’ll be back next week with more cards.
Cheers
Violet
