A Masculine Card

Yet another cool, damp and overcast day here in Ontario. I’m so sick of winter even if the only snow we’ve had was the Christmas blizzard. I keep reminding myself that every day we have is another day closer to spring.

I had two make a couple of masculine cards this month for two family members that live in different cities so I made them with the same stamped image.

I bought this stamp, and a few other things, from someone off Facebook Marketplace…. and it turned out the lady used to live one street behind us and was friends with my daughter. Small world.

Anyway, I stamped the image and coloured it with pencils and blended with gamsol…. well, mineral spirits, because I cannot buy gamsol here and the sellers will not ship it so I had to buy a huge bottle of mineral spirits. I prefer gamsol as it is odourless but you have to do what you have to do. It works and that’s the main thing.

The background was made by using up strips of left over cardstock and then it was run through an embossing folder for extra texture. A piece of brown cardstock was added behind the image on an angle and the entire card was mounted on a brown card base. The  sentiments were stamped and embossed in white embossing powder. The circle was punched and it was glued flat. The other sentiment was added with a dimensional strip. One card has been received and liked so… whew! Always happy when people like my cards.

That’s all for an overcast Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

   Cheers

Violet

Ps: To save a card to your Pinterest account, simply over over the image until the “Pin It” symbol appears and then click …. be patient, it sometimes takes a few seconds. This will take you to your own Pinterest account to save the card.

  1. I'am so sorry you cannot get Gamsol. Ever since discovering it i don't know what i would do without it! I believe it might have been you who introduced it to me?! What a great stamp and you colored him well! Hugs! deb

  2. Thanks Deb. I do believe it was me that recommended Gamsol to you. The mineral spirits I bought work just fine but they are not odourless.
