While looking for
some inspiration for my Halloween cards, I came across this mixed media piece I made a couple of years
ago. There may be some people who have not seen it, so I’m posting it again.
Its one of my favourites.
This was made on an
8 x 10 canvas paint frame. It may have come from the dollar store even. First the moon was inked and then a mask was placed on top while I did the background. The
background is a wild mixture of inks…..sorry I don’t know which ones but likely
all Distress Inks. The focal image was hand cut from a 12x12 paper pack from
Michaels….who did not even carry any Halloween paper again this year…grrrr. The
edges were carefully inked with a black marker which hides the white edge and
helps it stand out from the background. The suitcases were free clipart from
the Internet which I hand cut and inked the edges. Once they were arranged and glued
down, I added shadows with a Pitt pen. The top sentiment, ‘Undying Love’, was
hand cut from the same paper pack. This was the inspiration for the project.
The other sentiment was computer generated.
That’s all for a
lovely fall Sunday on October 20, 2024.
Cheers
Violet
Ps:
To save a card to your Pinterest account, simply over over the image until the
“Pin It” symbol appears and then click …. be patient, it sometimes takes a few
seconds. This will take you to your own Pinterest account to save the card.
I don't remember if i've seen this before Violet... but i LOVE it!! I love mixed media so much.. i don't do enough of it.. You did such a great job! I've been embossing alot lately... I find i really like it ... My lesson learned this week... do not use a very intricate stamp or it just comes out embossed like a blob... uuughh.. Thanks showing your canvas and reminding me to do more mixed media , even on canvas!! Hugs! deb
