A Christmas Layout

I’ve been so busy today I almost forgot to post this. My friend who runs a daycare needed me to stay with the kids for a couple of hours this morning so she could go to physio and I didn’t get back home until 12:30. After lunch I started sewing (still trying to get some more Christmas presents done) when Joe sat down to use his laptop and he had no Internet connection. I can usually fix minor things on the computer but this time I couldn’t get it to connect so I called in the computer guru from next door. Luckily he was home and came right over, got it going, and stayed for a coffee and visit. About ten minutes after he left another friend stopped in to buy one of the casserole cover/carriers I made (only 2 left if anyone still wants one) and she brought some bits of fabric for me to piece together to make her some microwave potholders. I gave her one as a friendship gift last year and she asked if she could buy some from me and when I said yes, she ordered four more. By that time I got another hour or so of sewing in and it was time to make supper. Wow, good job I’m retired! I don’t have time to work.

I thought I’d post some scrapbook pages for a change. This is Christmas 2010. I think I photographed them wrong and they should be opposite sides.

The part that looks pink is really red. Not sure why the camera changed it to pink. I have a hard time finding a good place to photograph these 12x12 and double page layouts where the lighting is good…and sometimes I move the camera settings when switching layouts without realizing it which is annoying too.

Anyway, pretty simple to follow the layout here. I have a template from Paper Wishes with lots of different sizes of edges but you have to trace it and cut it by hand. The tag that says Fooseball Game! was easy to do. I just computer printed it out on some white cardstock that I had inked with green Distress Ink in a swirly pattern…same as the larger journal tag. The top of that tag was stamped numerous times with a small holly stamp that came with one of the stamp sets from Paper Wishes. The title and dates were die cut using an Cuttlebug Alphabet die after I ink cardstock with various inks to get that mottled look. The circles were stamped with stamps that also came from a stamp set from Paper Wishes. I think the background paper is from Stampin' Up but I could be wrong. It would be out of stock anyway by now.

Here are the pages up close.

We have mounds of snow but now they are calling for rain and even freezing rain. Glad I don’t have anywhere I have to go in the next few days!

 Cheers

Violet
