What a miserable day! They were calling for heavy rain,
freezing rain, snow and high winds starting late this afternoon. So, in order
to avoid being out in all that we decided to get groceries and run some errands
this morning and eat lunch out. Once again, Mother Nature just had to fool us
and come early. We just stepped out of the car at Wal-Mart (we buy our bread
and some veggie food there first) when it started to snow – then ice pellets
hit us for a few yards – and then cold pelting rain. The plan was to pick up
our bread, go out for lunch, and then go to the grocery store where we buy
about 90% of our groceries to get the rest of what we needed; but we quickly
decided to just go get the groceries. By the time we got out there was a cold
sloppy mess about 2” high in some places and it was still going back and forth
between freezing rain/rain and snow. Oh, and by the way, did I mention I
decided to wear shoes today? Joe suggested I put my boots on but did I listen?
No, I did not. Shoes are not water proof! Brrrrrr. Cold feet. We decided to
head for home but by that time it was just rain so we stopped for Chinese Food
first. Oh, Mother Nature, you are wicked this winter!
Got home to find out that the Canadian Women’s Hockey team
and Curling team won Gold today! Yay! Tomorrow the Men’s Canadian Hockey team
plays the U.S.A.
in the last elimination game. Go Canada!
As mentioned yesterday, here’s another man’s birthday card with the Tim Holtz old car this time.
I made a green card base this time and then dug through the
left-over green paper stash to find the other pieces. I am determined to reduce
this stash. The old car was stamped with Versamark and then Distress ink just like yesterday's card. The
sentiment is from Stampin’ Up.
That’s all for a cold, wet and windy Thursday!
Cheers
Violet
