Today was a very unproductive day. We watched American Idol
this morning and after lunch I ran some errands on my own because Joe still isn’t
feeling well. When I got back home it was time for a coffee and chit chat and
catching up with the current news on the Internet and then just Internet browsing. I
just had no motivation to do much of anything. I did mess around for an hour or
so in the lower studio but to tell you the truth I didn’t accomplish much. The
baked potato soup I made for supper was the best thing I did all day – yum!
Today’s card is for the www.merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.ca.
The challenge this week was to make a Christmas card with holly on it. Here’s
my card.
I wanted a square card so I made one out of a piece of light green. The poinsettia was stamped with Versamark and then gold
embossing powder was sprinkled on heat set. I think this is a Stampin’ Up
stamp. I borrowed some Christmas stamps with a friend last year and stamped
quite a few and set them aside and forgot about them which worked out well because now I have some ready to colour. I coloured it with water
colour pencils and added gold Stickles in the centre. The squares are once
again the fancy Spellbinder’s square set. The strip along the bottom had the
holly on it so that part was easy. I added some red Stickles to the berries to give them a little sparkle. It just needed a little more so I cut and
notched a small piece of green ribbon and glued on a thick plastic sentiment. I
have a huge bag of these and needed to use them up.
One more Christmas card done!
Cheers
Violet
