A Very Pink Card

Still bitter cold and we did get some snow last night….not as much as predicted but enough just the same….and it was windy so it was drifted quite high in spots. Joe hates winter and hates snow so when he saw the driveway drifted in I heard a groan. He finally decided to go out this morning and shovel the driveway himself instead of hiring the neighbourhood kids we normally get to do it. He just finished…and I mean JUST finished…..and it started snowing again…..Oooooh, not a happy camper. The groan became a growl I think. About 3:30 he thought he should go out and remove the small amount of snow that did come….and as soon as stepped outside….you guessed it, more flurries. They kept coming and going all day. One minute we would be having a snow shower and a few minutes later the sun was out. Welcome to winter weather in January in Ontario.

So, once again I’m going to post a card for a winter birthday. This one is very pink but a little girl should like it.

Once again this is a Magnolia image that was coloured with Prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. All the paper and ribbon is from the stash. I like to distress the edges and this time I used hot pink to do so. Ovals are from Spellbinders dies. I punched out the snowflake twice, once in white, once in the hot pink and then layered them together and added a pink gem in the centre. The sentiment was computer generated. It is the colouring that takes the time with these cards but it the part that I like the best. I usually colour images as I watch hockey on television.

That’s all for a snowy, windy, cold Friday,

Cheers
Violet

  1. LOL! I was coloring a house i sketched last night while watching TV... :) Love your VERY pink card and i think a little girl would love it. It will be warm here all week with no rain in sight...thats not so good... This rainy season has been slightly better than last year but in no way does it make up for the drought...We need a drenching.. Stay warm Violet. I can only imagine Joe's displeasure at the continued flurries... I've never lived where it snowed as an adult. So i never had to shovel snow or try to go to work in it. I only lived in snowy areas as a kid so i have fond memories of snow. :) Hugs! deb
