A Long Day...and a Card

Tired! How can sitting in a car, as a passenger, for a few hours make one tired? My sister had a doctor’s appointment in London and I went along for company and support. Luckily this sister shares my warped sense of humour, never gets upset over wrong turns or bad traffic, etc. so we had a very enjoyable day. First we stopped at Fabricland and I picked up some more fabric….I needed it, really I did!!!!....and batting for future quilts; then we had a delicious lunch at Red Lobster….I haven’t been there in years so it was a real treat….and had enough left over to heat up for supper; then the appointment; a few other errands an headed for home. Left at 8:30 this morning and got home at 5:00. I couldn’t wait to finish supper and sit with a cup of tea and relax.

So, nothing creative happened around here today but hopefully tomorrow I’ll get back to it. Today’s card is a sweet birthday card for a little girl.

I found this digi stamp on the Internet and coloured it with Prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. Blue chalk was dusted over the top for the sky, green for grass by her feet. The background paper was run through an embossing folder and I decided to use the debossed side this time and ran green ink around it so it settled in the crevices. This was glued to two pieces of green cardstock – the top being polka dot, the bottom plain green (and this was glued to the white card base).

Then I took a left over piece of the green polka dot paper and mounted it on to a piece of plain green and glued it to the right side and the finished image glued to the left side. The image was die cut with a Spellbinder’s rectangle die. The banner was also die cut out of the same plain green and the birthday greeting was bent a bit on the acrylic block before I stamped it so it followed the curve of the banner. The banner was attached with dimensional glue dots.

That’s all from a tired blogger,

Cheers
Violet
