A Quilt Block Card

The heat wave continues but it is expected to break overnight and be less humid tomorrow which will be a huge relief. I love the heat but the humidity is a bit much. I’m not looking forward to winter coming but Joe really hates the cold and snow. First thing this morning he says to me, “I’m not very ambitious today but that’s because it’s the first day of winter!” “What?” “Winter?” Step outside son, it’s close to 90F so winter is a ways away yet. What a guy!

Today’s card is one I made with my quilting friends in mind.

I have this very old stamp of a quilt pattern and I seldom use it. Time to dig out some of the oldies! It was stamped on white cardstock and coloured with my alcohol markers. Then I carefully cut around it, including all those little stitches – maybe this is why I don’t use it often! Then I glued it to the pink square that was die cut and embossed with a Spellbinder die. The card base is the pretty blue so I dug through the stash for some blue and pink paper and notched the end into a banner shape. The small banner is a Little B die tag and the sentiment is a peel-off. Blue ink was sponged along the ends and then pink ink was brushed over the sentiment with a stencil brush. I like this die tag a lot because it folds in and adds dimension. It looked bare at the top so I die cut a blue strip with a Tim Holtz die and added it.

That is all for another steamy Tuesday,

Cheers

Violet
