Four Cards for Men

Good news – Joe is definitely feeling better today and actually wanted to eat! He didn’t have much energy though and spent a quiet day. I ran errands on my own this afternoon which was really odd doing it alone. He usually does the driving and I just dart in and out of where we have to go.

I have a cousin visiting us this weekend for a few days and he is a carnivore and not really interested in trying our vegetarian meals so I had to make another trip to the grocery store to buy…ugh, meat! My sister had a good laugh when I called and asked her how long it takes to cook chicken. I’m trying to be a good hostess to my guest so I hope he appreciates it! That being said, I’m taking him on a few day trips next week – it’s his first time in Canada since he was a baby – so there is a chance that posting will be sporadic….depending on what we do and how late we get back.

The other night I made four cards all the same…well almost the same. I never do this and started out thinking of just making two cards for men, one birthday and one thinking of you but I accidently grabbed two pieces of cardstock and cut them both down the middle so I ended up with four cards instead of two. Oh well, I’ll use them eventually. Here’s how they turned out.

I put the front of the card base into the wood grain embossing folder and ran them through the Big Shot. The circle was die cut with the Spellbinder die and stamped with a script stamp in light grey. The edges were inked with blue ink. The sentiments were stamped in the same blue ink and the ends notched. Two of the feathers are real feathers – some I’ve found, some from the store. The two die cut feathers were made using a Little B die. The large one was die cut using gold glitter paper from the dollar store. Because these were for men, I tied a hemp bow and added a blue button only.

Here are the other three cards. Similar but different feathers and buttons.

That’s all for yet another beautiful day,  Friday, September-25-15. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Cheers

Violet

  1. Love your card my friend! I'm still a sucker for feathers :) I love the color combo! Glad Joe is feeling better. My daughter was always my 'third leg' when it came to shopping or running errands ... there was a time we were two peas in a pod... When she graduated and moved away i sorely missed my shopping companion and soon hubby took up the position :) So good of you to be nice to your visiting meat eater. :) i say take him out to eat if you can afford it.. When daughter comes to visit we try to be nice to the veggie eater...lol Maybe you can give me a good (simple) vegetarian recipe that i can make to blow her socks off? :) Hugs! deb
