“JUST A NOTE” is the sentiment on the front of today’s card.
Not much happening today – I did a couple of errands this morning so we had our morning walk after lunch today. After our walk I decided to make a batch of peanut butter cookies which I haven’t made in years, maybe even decades. I seldom eat cookies and if I make any at all for me they are usually somewhat healthy with lots of nuts and seeds on them – Joe calls them ‘bird seed cookies’. I make him chocolate chip cookies on a regular basis but I don’t like chocolate very much so I never eat his. Anyway, I went to the Kraft website for a recipe and followed it exactly – yuck! They had very little peanut butter taste and were very sweet. I don’t like sweet things which is why I seldom eat cookies. In fact, that was about all I could taste – sugar. They are going to be donated somewhere but I’m not sure where yet. I think I’ll stick to my bird seed cookies!
On with the post! Here’s today’s card which features another one
of Tim Holtz’ Crazy Birds.
No designer paper used on this one. The card base is that bright
blue and I found a small piece in the stash that was almost the same colour and
ran that one through the embossing folder after die cutting it with a
Spellbinder die. The beige background was stencilled with some brown ink, some
lighter, some darker to give it some depth. The image was coloured with Prismacolor
pencils and blended with gamsol. Various Distress inks were sponged around it
and then it too was die cut with the same Spellbinder die but was glued on opposite
the blue piece. The little banner was die cut with a Little B die and the
sentiment was stamped on. This should cheer someone up! Some clear sequins were tinted blue with Alcohol Ink
and glued on. I recently found some coloured sequins at the dollar store with
several colours in a package so now I don’t have to die as many. They didn’t
have all colours but what do you expect for $1.25!
That’s all for a lovely warm (65F) Wednesday,
Cheers
Violet
