A Challenge Card

Still bitter cold here and it snowed all night and into the morning. Even once it quit snowing the wind was blowing so hard at times, it looked like a blizzard….but then 10 minutes later it would be calm again. While Joe was shovelling out the driveway, much to my dismay as I hate him out there doing that, I stayed in and made him chocolate chip cookies….and bird seed cookies for me – that’s what he calls my cookies because I don’t care for chocolate very much at all so I put lots of nuts and seeds in my cookies instead. Then we had friends stop in for a coffee too so it was a busy morning. After lunch I went to visit another quilting friend and then stopped to get some milk and fresh fruit to tide us over until we decide to get groceries. Busy day for sure.

Today’s card is another Christmas card made with a stamp I bought at Michaels at 75% off, I think. It was too good of a deal to pass on. It’s a wood mounted stamp called “Christmas Cottage” by Stampendous. I prefer cling mounted now as they take up much less room but it only came as wood mounted so I had no choice. I actually made this card last week for the challenge at:  http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com but forgot to post it – duh! However, this week their challenge is “anything goes” so I’m entering it this week instead. I make Christmas cards all year instead of all at once in the fall.

The image was stamped with Stampin’ Up Raspberry Ripple on white cardstock. The edges were then inked with the same ink as was the tag (stamped twice, once in solid wine to act like a shadow) (expired set from Technique Tuesday) and the sentiment – HOTP. The ribbon is also Raspberry Ripple so how nice that I just happened to have some on hand. The card was then glued to a light grey card base (which was part of last week’s challenge). I didn’t do any colouring or shading or glitter on this card. It would be a easy card to make assembly style for those that make all their cards the same. Tomorrow I’ll post another card made with the same stamp but with a totally different look.

That’s all for a cold and snowy Tuesday,

Cheers

Violet
