The
snow is gone! We had temperatures near 60F over the weekend and some rain last
night and the snow melted….but we can’t put away our boots yet – more snow
predicted for tomorrow….and even some ice pellets. Winter is not done yet! We
had our morning walk and in the sheltered areas it was nice but out in the
open, the wind was quite cold.
Today’s
card was made with a Just Rite poppy stamp.
This
one was coloured with a combination of alcohol markers and Prsimacolor pencils.
Do you see those small black bits that look like pollen? This was a boo boo
that I ended up liking. I had added Wink of Stella to the flowers and set it
aside. Then I decided to add tiny black glitter to the inside of the flowers so
I dabbed on a bit of glue and added the glitter – but it stuck all over the
flowers....they weren't quite dry yet. AAAGGGHH. I thought I had ruined it but I grabbed a cloth and wiped it
across the card and most of the black glitter came off. But some seemed to
stick a bit and I decided it looked like pollen that had been released. I left
it alone and decided not to risk damaging the paper by removing more.
The
white background was die cut with a Spellbinder’s fancy rectangle die. The
ribbon was from my stash. The small tag was also a Spellbinder’s die but from a
different set and the edges were inked with orange ink. The sentiment is a
peel-of. The orange paper was also from my stash and I used a Fiskar’s corner
punch to decorate each corner before gluing it to the white card base. Then I
decided it needed some pearls so tiny pearls were added.
That’s all for a cool, windy Monday,
Violet
HI Violet! I love how the background color matches your flower color. :) We had a heck of a thunderstorm last night about 3am... I hate when they come in the middle of the night.... We enjoying living here on top a hill... we didn't have to worry about the flooding last Spring... BUT.... its not such a good place to be in a lightning storm... hill... tall trees...lightning...um..yeah... We've seen some lightning hit pretty close since we've been here... the house has lightning rods on top... first house i've lived in that had that... Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! We have snow predicted for tomorrow. I'll be so happy for spring. Don't like the cold weather.
