A Gate-Fold with Ribbon Band

Brrrr. Its below zero here today and with the cold wind blowing, it feels like the middle of winter….and its not getting any warmer for tomorrow either. Tonight is our quilt guild Christmas party so I’m going to be brave and venture out.

While making some Christmas cards on the weekend I opened a new stamp set and one stamp was missing. I didn’t think it would do me any good to complain to the company but I must admit Stampendous was excellent to deal with. Hats off to wonderful customer service!

Today’s card is a gate-fold card that has a ribbon band around it which gives it a nice finished look....and holds it together.

Here’s card folded up with a Spellbinder’s die cut medallion at the front.
The sentiment is a very tiny gold peel-off. There is a ribbon wrapped loosely around the card and the medallion is glued to it. The medallion was cut once in the white cardstock and then the inside part was die cut in green. Love this die set. The paper is from a very old paper pack.

This is the inside of the card.

The image is a free download from the Internet. It was coloured with pencils and blended gamsol.  I added liquid embroidery to the snow but I’ve had this product for a few years and the snow turned a wee bit yellow….not very attractive at all. So I painted over it with white acrylic paint and sprinkled on some white glitter while the paint was wet. Much better. The wood grain paper is just Kraft cardstock that I ran through a wood grain embossing folder and then gently added Stampin' Up's Crumb Cake ink here and there on the embossed parts. Then white acrylic paint was splattered over it.The card is actually that green colour on the strip under the image….not the colour of the right panel….that’s from the lamp and the camera not cooperating. The inside sentiment is also a gold peel-off.

That’s all for a very cold and windy Wednesday, November-21-18. Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow to all my readers in the United States. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

        Cheers

Violet
