Another rainy and snowy weekend is behind us. We had enough
rain and mild enough temperatures to melt most of the snow off the lawns. We did
get some snow showers last night but it melted as soon as it the ground. So far
we have only had to have our driveway cleared twice – November 11th,
which was rare to have a snowstorm then and once in January.
Today’s card is one made by
recycling a very old greeting card. I hate throwing them in the recycling boxes
if I can re-purpose them. People have a tendency to give me boxes of old
greeting cards….some I use, some not. Here’s a hint – always check the back of
the cards! Some expensive cards have a beautiful and matching back piece ….like
this card had.
This was
originally a large birthday card. The front had these beautiful embossed leaves
on it – and the back was the same colour but plain – bonus! The photo was a bit
larger than this and was at the top of the card. I die cut a frame from part of
the card and placed it over the photo. Then the embossed piece and the back
were cut and taped together to form a 5 ¼ card front to fit on a 5 ½” card
base. I always like to hide the seam so this time I used a piece of the back to
die cut that rope and glued it on. Then the peel-off sentiment was added.
That’s all for a mild Monday, January-27-20.
Cheers
Violet
