Happy 2021
everyone. We all hope it’s better than 2020 but it is not starting out that way
at all. We are under lockdown here in Ontario because so many people have
decided not to follow the health guidelines…grrrrr. If you are safe at home,
time to be creative to help pass the time. I have many indoor hobbies so I’m
doing just fine, although I sure miss seeing my family and friends.
One of my very
crafty card making friends sent me a beautiful Christmas card she had made and
I liked it so much I stole the design!!! Here is my version but as a birthday
card instead of a Christmas card.
This is one of those cards where the middle is actually clear acetate so it looks like the bottom is not attached. The card base is a 5.5” x 4.25” hot pink on so I went with that colour scheme. I love the designer paper of hot pink shoes and I only have a small bit left. Wish I could find more of it! Anyway, I cut 1 ½” off the bottom of the card base and then left 1 ½” on the top and attached a piece of acetate in between with double sided tape. Then the a white rectangle was added to each top and bottom piece, leaving a bit of a pink border; and then the shoe paper was added leaving a bit of a white border. I was going to stamp and colour some flowers to add but I was feeling a bit tired….okay, lazy… so I found these flower dimensional stickers in my flower bin and used them. Perfect. The sentiment was stamped on a piece of white cardstock also cut 5.5” x 4.25” which was then glued to the inside back of the card base so it shows through at the front but is still there when the card is opened. I enjoyed making this card so much I’m going to make some more but using different coloured card bases and flowers.
That’s all for
the first post of 2021 on January 4th.
Cheers
Violet

you to your own Pinterest account to save the card.
Great card, I just may try this.
