Four Cards Today

We had a beautiful spring day here today and took advantage of it by going for a very long walk through the bush. We saw our first Chickadee, Hairy Woodpecker, garter snake, turtle and mourning cloak butterfly as well as several downy woodpeckers and robins. What a nice day we had.

I recently went through a bag of crafting goodies a friend gifted me….that someone gave to her but she is not a crafter so she passed them on to me. A lot of it was crinkled and ripped and I had to toss those pieces but there were a few prints of a moose grazing in a pond that were quite lovely. I decided to make my brother who is a nursing home a thinking of you card from one of them. Then I thought, why not make them all into cards instead of storing them away - you know what happens then right, out of sight, out of mind. So I made several cards from the same print, but each one is just a bit different. Here are the first four cards. I still have a few to make but I’m too busy getting a quilt finished to make cards.

For this card I simply mounted it on a dark teal card base; added the die cut banner; attached a paper button tied with thread and then added the peel-off sentiment.

This card was mounted on a black card base. The trees were die cut from dark teal as was the notched banner. The sentiment is a peel-off.

This card was also mounted on a black card base. Then I added the die cut tree and the sentiment which were also die cut from black cardstock.

This particular print was chopped off a bit on the left side so it didn’t really fit on a standard card very well. To compensate for that, after it was mounted on the black card base, a fancy purple strip was added along the left side. Worked just fine.

I have a few prints left and I’ll be posting those once I get back to card making. I have so many hobbies its hard to know which one to work on.

That’s all for a wonderfully spring like Monday on March 22, 2021.

 Cheers

Violet
