A New-to-Me Technique

The summer days are just so nice, we spend as much time as we can outside. Yesterday we went for a 24.5 km bike ride despite the risk of rain and perhaps a thunderstorm. We had a few black clouds that same but went away so no rain on us. One area in Ontario had funnel clouds form but they luckily they didn’t touch ground.

Last week was my middle daughter’s birthday. I’ve been playing with a new-to-me technique. This is the card I made for her using it.

The background is just black cardstock. The creator of the original card I found used black water colour paper but I didn’t have any and wasn’t about to buy any so I used what I had. First the large image was stamped with VersaMark and then heat embossed with silver embossing powder. Then metallic water colour paint was used to paint the flowers and leaves – some with two or more coats; some with just one. It is much prettier in real life. Then silver peel-off dots were added to the centres of the flowers and some around the image. The sentiment is a silver peel-off. Then it was mounted on silver metallic paper and then onto the white card base. My daughter loved it. I made a few more using other images too and I’ll be posting them later.

That’s all for a beautiful summer day on Wednesday, August-04-2021.

Cheers

Violet

PS: To save a card to your Pinterest account, simply hover over the image until the ‘Pin It” symbol appears and then click…it sometimes takes a few seconds. This will take you to your own Pinterest account to save the card.
