It is cold and windy here today and tomorrow will be even worse with winds up to 90km an hour…that’s about 60mph. I’m staying inside tomorrow.
I think I mailed a lot of Christmas cards before I photographed them. Ooops. So, today I’m posting a butterfly card instead.
This is another one of the cards that someone gave me that was falling apart and not well designed at all. It was a struggle with some of them to be able to salvage them as some parts were very well adhered and others were not. I had to dissembled and re-assembled them all….but I enjoy a challenge so there is that.
The first thing I had to do was to finish removing all the elements that were barely hanging on. Some of the glue they used did not adhere at all. Then I threw away the embellishments that were not my style and did nothing to enhance the card. The pink striped paper and the grey were still well attached so I left them as they were. The pink at the bottom was also well adhered so it stayed as well.
I die cut a dark grey circle using two dies to make it wide and glued light pink cardstock behind it. I can’t remember what they had there but it did not suit at all. It was glued to the leaf cluster that was already there. The butterfly came from one of the packages I bought at the dollar store. The sentiment is a gold peel-off. It was then remounted on a dark purple card base. Overall I thought it turned out quite nice.
That’s all for a cold and windy Wednesday, December 14, 2022
Cheers
Violet
