Graveyard Sitters

We had such a mild couple of days it felt like October had switched back to early September….until the rain started this afternoon. Oh well, two nice days in a row was a bonus.

Here are two more Halloween cards - spooky grave sitters.

This background was again created with lots of different Distress Inks. The moon glowing was an happy accident. Some trees were stamped in the background and then some gravestones in a row (Tim Holtz die) were glued on. The large gravestone behind the main was another die cut but the one the ladies are sitting on was a free download from the Internet that I hand cut and distressed. The ladies are from Tim Holtz paper dolls. I’ve been trying to find the Halloween ones but I think they must be discontinued as no one seems to have them. I may get the Christmas ones if I can find them. I used some Stampin’ Up crayons to add some colour to the ladies; inked the edges with black ink; and then set them on the gravestone. Notice their eyes? I used a black Sharpie to black them to make them even more creepy. Then I die cut the limb and raven and added them on. The small bats were stamped. Not sure which stamp set they came from. I throw out the packages so it’s a wild guess most of the time. The ‘spooky’ die cuts are from the Tim Holtz Halloween word dies. They were die cut twice; once in white; once in black and then glued together but offset.

 Next one:

Once again the background was created with Distress Inks and then I splattered on some water; dried it with a cloth; which leaves those white blobs that, to me, look like orbs. Water was spritzed into the moon to get a few veins floating in and then I stamped the moon with a Stampin’ Up grunge stamp.

I took the Tim Holtz graveyard tombstones and die cut it from foam. I used that as a stamp to stamp in the tombstone in the back. Then I stamped the old wrought iron fence. The spooky tree is from another stamp set and it is stamped in black and then I stamped the bird on the tree .

These large tombstones were more free downloads from the Internet. I hand cut them and distressed them. This Tim Holtz paper doll has his eyes white, which I think is even more creepy than all black.  I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock and heat embossed it in white.

These were so much fun to make.

That’s all for a rainy Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

Cheers

Violet
