Blue and White Chirstmas Cards

Well we did get some snow (ugh) on the weekend but it only stayed on the grass. The paved roads were warm enough that it melted right away. We are having a few snow flurries as I type this late Monday afternoon but it will not likely amount to much. More rain is on the way so the snow will be gone once again.

This was a very busy day! It was quilting day at the church where we make comfort quilts for kids with cancer and for those in our own community that are sick or undergoing some personal problems. It’s a fun day, but tiring just the same. Saturday morning I helped teach some children to quilt at the library, a partnership venture between the Kiwanis club and the library and of course us quilters. The kids (one boy, the rest girls) were well behaved and really enjoyed learning something new. Three more Saturdays to go!

Today’s card meets the requirements for these challenges.

 Here’s my card:

This time, before die cutting the white background with my new Spellbinder’s die, I ran the pale blue cardstock through the Big Shot with a Snowflake embossing folder. Once both the background and the blue swirl were die cut, I placed the blue swirl into where the white came out of – taped on the back to hold it in place before I glued it all to the blue card base – same cardstock as the swirl – Stampin’ Up cardstock but not sure what colour – Almost Navy I think. Then I die cut a large snowflake (Spellbinders die again) and glued it on. The sentiment and the little silver snowflakes are peel-offs. It’s amazing how many different looks you can get from this one die. Love it!

That’s all for a snowy Monday, November-23-15

Cheers

Violet
