We
had yet another hot and humid day here in Ontario so the short-lived thunderstorm that
came through last night has long since evaporated. Today was an exceptionally
busy day and I am ready to relax….but first I have to pin two quilts so they
are ready to be quilted. These are for a great-great nephew and niece who are
moving to Norway .
I didn’t think I was old enough to have a ‘great-great’ relative but apparently
I am.
Today’s
card is another one made from my stash of burgundy paper. Don't forget you are welcome to add any of my cards to your own Pinterest account for future reference.
There
were two small sheets of the designer paper in the pile of burgundy and purple
paper. I made two cards to use them up and the other card will be posted
tomorrow…or next day! The marbled burgundy strip along the left side is some paper
that I coloured myself over a year ago it was never used. To give it more dimension
it was run through an embossing folder. Here’s a hint about embossing thin
paper like this and velum – place a piece of scrap paper on top of the thin
paper before running it through your embossing machine. This will stop the thin
paper from ripping. The image was a free digital image and luckily I had
coloured it in the burgundy shades and I had already die cut into an oval. I
replaced the oval and added some blue chalk around the edges which leaves a
nice white border. Then another piece of burgundy cardstock was die cut
(Spellbinders for both dies) with the oval scallop die. I hand cut the banner
and then added the peel-off sentiment.
That’s
all for a hot and humid Monday, June 27, 2016
Cheers
Violet
Such a pretty card Violet. Everytime i see you emboss something it just makes me want to do the same....embossing adds so much. We had a brief heavy thunder shower yesterday... nothing major and didn't last long but it was enough to fill the bird bath!! thats good in my book. :) Hugs! deb
