Looks like this will be
the last nice day before it turns cold again. We keep hearing about Hurricane
Michael and that sounds like one wicked hurricane. Hopefully everyone that was
told to evacuate does so and there is no loss of life…..unfortunately there is
bound to be a lot of property damage but at least it can be rebuilt or replaced.
Today’s card is another one of those ‘lets
see if this will work’ cards and I really like how it turned out.
Yes, I’m still using some scraps from
this old 8”x8” paper pack……and I have lots of full pages left. I took some of
the bits; taped them together at the back; trimmed them to 4” x 5 ¼”; added
gold peel-off strips over the seams and glued it to a standard card base. I
found some deep burgundy cardstock that was a darker colour than the paper and
die cut a Spellbinder’s oval from it and a smaller oval from another piece of
the designer paper. Then I took some flower stems from the dollar store and ripped
off the flowers and those ugly plastic centres and glued them together and
added the fancy beaded centres….one of the flowers was a single so it was
folded over like a bud but it doesn’t show well in the photo…it’s the one that
the banner is tucked under. The leaves were die cut from cardstock similar in
colour to the green in the paper and glued on first; then the flowers. The wide
banner was hand cut and tucked under the flowers. A gold peel-off sentiment and
tiny heart were added to the banner. I decided it needed something else so I
die cut a black butterfly using a Memory Box die and glued it on….and called it
done.
That’s all for a lovely……but getting
cloudy with a risk of yet another thunderstorm.….Wednesday, October 10, 2018.
Cheers
Violet

I spent so much of my childhood and even adult life at Destin, FLorida. I sure hope there is something left.. Theres a road that runs along the coast there and they never used to let them built hotels and such on the side of the road near the ocean then eventually they did.. i wonder how those hotels and such fared.. We have family in GA that probably saw some of that..
ReplyDeleteViolet i think your pink and mint green colors are fabulous! You really have a strong understanding of color theory and it serves you well in your card making. Such a pretty card! Enjoy your last nice day.. We are sunny and cool... A beautiful combination!! Hugs! deb
