A Sunny Yellow Card

I’m trying out the new ‘Blogger’ so I hope it works. I was way too tired last night to fiddle with it, especially when we were in the middle of a violent thunderstorm. It was a doozy! Some trees were felled here with some falling right across one of the busiest streets; lots of power outages (we were lucky there as ours flickered but stayed on) and two tornadoes touched down about an hour’s drive away from us. Buildings and vehicles were damaged but no injuries. Scary!
Today’s card is another one made from the flip card that split in the seam and could not be used. Instead of tossing the whole card away, I just cut pieces from it and used them in other cards.

This time I took a piece of creamy/yellow paper and splattered on some yellow drops to give it a little more character. Then the edges were lightly inked with brown ink and then glued to a yellow card base. A strip of the designer cardstock was cut from the discarded card and glued in place. Gold fancy peel-off lines were added along the edges. The sentiment label also came from the discarded card and a gold fancy swirl was added underneath the sentiment. The butterflies were die cut from pieces of it as well and stacked on top of each other. A gold body was die cut instead of the traditional black one. As a final touch, small gold dots were added around and on the flowers.
After a few days of very hot and humid weather, the storm broke that spell and we had a sunny, lovely day here today. That’s all for a lovely Thursday on June 11, 2020.
Cheers
Violet
