I wanted to make one of the cards that had the large letters lifted off the page. Most of them ones I see have the letters the same as the background with extra layers behind to make it dimensional. I decided I wanted my letters to be the focal point instead of just dimensional.
So, first a piece of white cardstock was run through a large dot embossing folder and then the edges and the tops of the dots were lightly brushed with light blue ink – it looks turquois in the photo but in real life, it’s light blue. Instead of 4 or 5 layers of cardstock beneath the letters I die cut the letters out of black foam and glued them in place first, and then the letters. It was much quicker and it worked! The banner was die cut and ‘let it’ was die cut using a very old Cuttlebug die. It was adhered with dimensional tape. The card sat on my desk for a couple of days and I just knew it needed something else. Then I noticed this small penguin stamp in the stash and decided it would be perfect. It was stamped and coloured and then red flock was glued onto the earmuffs. It was attached with dimensional tape. That’s all for
rainy Friday, on November 27, 2020. Wishing you all a wonderful and safe
weekend. I’ll be back next week with more cards.
Cheers
Violet
