A Tip and a Card

Our above normal temperatures have disappeared. Brrrr. The wind was very cold today and it will likely stay cold now too. We have no snow and the grass is still very green. In fact I have some very hardy flowers still blooming….not sure what kind they are but I think some sort of daisy.

Before I post today’s card I have a tip for you using a score-pal. If your scoring tool ever slips off the ridge while scoring like mine does, I have help for you. Place a ruler beside the score line and score. The ruler will keep it from skipping off. Here is what I mean.

I like to make my own card bases so I had to score at 4.25 so I lay the ruler right along that score line and then I score. I put a red dot at 4.25 so I don’t accidently score at 4”….no need to wonder why I had to do that!

        Now for the card.

I took this picture of a Snow Baby ornament at the camera club last year. They had various things set up with twinkling lights, candles, etc with them. I decided to turn this one into a card. So I trimmed this one down and mounted it on white cardstock and then onto a piece of over-sized red so I could add a peel-of sentiment and tree. It was then mounted on a piece of white cardstock which had been run through an embossing folder of large dots. A piece of silver ribbon was glued to the left side and then it was then glued to a red base which was the same as what the photo was mounted on. I liked it and I hope the recipient likes it too.

That’s all for a very cold Monday, on December 14, 2020.

 Cheers

Violet

PS: To save a card to your Pinterest account, simply hover over the image until the ‘Pin It” symbol appears and then click…it sometimes take a few seconds. This will take you to your own Pinterest account to save the card.
