It was a bit milder today and no cold wind blowing so we ventured out to the bush for a nice long walk. We were hoping to see the resident owls but they were not to be found. On a sad note, thanks to the anti-maskers; the party goers and those that attended weddings, funerals, church services, and ate in restaurants even though they knew they were sick, Ontario is heading for a complete lockdown starting December 26 to try to lower the COVID cases. We had lowered the curve here in the summer but then people decided they could do what they wanted again so now we all pay. Grrrrr.
Today I’m
actually posting three cards. Someone gave me an old greeting card with Christmas
bears on it and I just had to cut them apart and use them.
For this card I popped the bear off the old card and re-attached it with dimensional glue strips to a piece of left over winter cardstock. Then I took another piece of left
over cardstock cut with the same Spellbinder’s rectangle die and inked the
edges with a darker blue. The background was solid white and it was run through
an embossing folder of falling snow…so lots of snow at the top and then less as
it goes down. The background was glued to a dark blue card base. The two
rectangles were glued down on a jaunty little angle. The sentiment was cut from
a 6inch paper pack and attached with a dimensional glue strip.
Next Card:
The Merry Christmas bear was popped on to a piece of blue cardstock after the edges of the cardstock were swiped with the VersaMark ink pad and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. A few dots were also heat embossed in white. The bear couldn’t be just holding a sign that said Merry so the Christmas sentiment was from a peel-off pack that was first glued to a piece of white cardstock and then glued down with a dimensional glue strip. The background was a piece of light blue cardstock that I ran through a snowball embossing folder and then a white ink pad was gently brushed across the top to hi-lite the raised snowballs. It was all attached to a white card base.
Next Card:
I loved the turquoise blue on the sign this bear was holding so I decided to go with that colour theme. The background was embossed with the falling snow embossing folder. I had just enough of that turquoise blue ribbon to go around the bottom twice… the bear needed something to stand on! The bear was attached with dimensional glue dots.He needed another sign so the word ‘holidays’ was stamped in
a lighter turquoise blue on a piece of shimmer white cardstock and then die cut
with a stitched banner die. It was attached with a dimensional glue strip.
Three quick and
easy Christmas cards finished in no time and each one is just that little bit
different from the others.
That’s all for
a mild but overcast Monday. I was hoping to see the Christmas star tonight but
we were foiled once again by rain clouds.
Cheers
Violet
