There was a cold wind blowing today so I stayed inside….. but the forecast for next week is looking much more like spring.
Once in awhile I’ll tell myself to break out from making the same type of cards and make something totally different. So today I’m posting a very bold, bright, funky card.
It all started when I was flipping through my binder of flower stamps and found a stamp set that I won years ago and haven't used much at all - if ever. I decided it was time to use it. The piece started out as a piece of plain white cardstock that was inked with very Distress inks - yellows and spicy marmalade and probably some pink. Plain water was splashed on and then blotted off to create those wonderful white marks I love. Then this funky flower set was stamped with VersaMark and then black embossing powder and heat set. Next white acrylic paint was watered down and splattered on; and then black paint. Ooops, the white paint was a little to blotchy on the flower part and it really didn’t look good. I put it back in the Tim Holtz stamp positioner and restamped it with black ink. So much better. Then the black peel-off sentiment was added. It was then mounted on a black card base. Not sure who I’ll send this one too but we shall see. Next posting will be a very different card again - a complete 180 degree difference.
That’s all for a cold and windy Friday on March 5, 2021. Have a wonderful, safe and creative weekend.
Cheers
Violet
