The weather report and the actual weather was very contradictory today. The outside temperature was supposed to be 15C (59F) but they didn’t factor in the wind. We went for a walk through the bush and that wind was cold! Some people actually had on just a T-shirt but they didn’t stay long. We didn’t see many birds - a couple of owls and a downy woodpecker but it was so nice to be outside walking through the bush…but next time, I’ll dress warmer.
I’m posting the card that is 180 degree different than the funky one I posted last Friday. Scroll down to see it.
I was doing some experimenting and can’t say it was very successful. The flower was actually stamped with Distress Oxide Inks and heat embossed on black cardstock. Why did I do this you wonder - I have no idea! It was one of those, “I wonder if this will work” thoughts - and it didn’t work out very well. So it sat on my desk for a couple of days and I decided to try to salvage it. It didn’t show up well against the black so I sponged on white ink all around the flower - it looks like the flower was in the fog. Different and a wee bit better. So, I added the gold peel-off sentiment and mounted it on a black card base and called it done. Will I make another one - not likely…but live and learn. It's actually a lot nicer in real life. The camera didn't pick up the colours very well.
That’s all for a mild but cool and very windy Monday, March 8, 2021.
Cheers
Violet
