A Masculine Card

Another Monday! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend…we certainly did. Once I was assured all of my children and grandchildren were safe and unaffected by the tornado that touched down near where they lived, I was able to relax and enjoy the weekend….although I was saddened by the terrible losses others suffered. It must be terrifying living through a tornado. We went hiking both Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Today however is another story. My suspicions regarding losing another tooth were confirmed today at the dentist office. The tooth is gone! Thank goodness I have some dental coverage to help pay for all these dental bills….and more to come!

I needed some masculine cards…which I quite like creating…so here’s another one that came together pretty quickly.

The ship is a free download from the Internet. Once it was printed out I just coloured in the body of the ship, the water and flag and sponged some blue chalk around it for the sky. The frame was first cut into a rectangle and then I used the Spellbinder’s oval die to cut the oval part out. The ship was placed behind it and then it was glued to the card base. I picked up a box of card bases and envelopes at the thrift store….the same ones the Michaels sells but all were masculine based. It was a good find for sure.

The banner is actually a piece of red ribbon that was glued on with the peel-off sentiment attached. Then I die cut the anchor three times...two black and one silver… and glued them together to make it thicker. Then I roughed up the anchor and added some black ink…and rubbed it off quickly….to grunge up that anchor to make it look old.

That’s all for a cooler, damper….and painful…Monday, September 24, 2018. I’ll be back on Wednesday with another card.

Cheers

Violet

PS: To save a card to your Pinterest account, simply hover over the image until the ‘Pin It” symbol appears and then click…it sometimes take a few seconds. This will take you to your own Pinterest account to save the card.
