Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian
readers and Happy Monday to all the rest! This was a cold and wet thanksgiving
weekend until day which was so hot it felt like summer again. We didn’t do much
all weekend because Joe bent over to put the bicycle carrier down and put his
back out last Wednesday……. and he was just starting to feel better today…..and
decided he absolutely had to cut the grass today…..grrrrr….someone’s back is a
little stiff and sore again. Men!
I forgot to post a card on Friday;
remembered on Saturday that I hadn’t posted; picked a card out to post; got
interrupted and never got it done. So now its Monday so here’s the card.
This image is a retired Stampin’ Up
stamp. The set belonged to a card making friend and she was clearing out ones
she didn’t want anymore so I bought it from her. It was stamped on white cardstock and
coloured with pencils and blended with gamsol….still my favourite way of
colouring images….although I just finished doing some flowers using water
colour pencils and I liked how they turned out too…..those have not been made
into cards yet.
Anyway, back to this card. The sky was
splattered using a blue alcohol marker and one of those bulbs that you squeeze
to disperse the ink. It doesn’t seem to work well with Tombow markers but the
alcohol inks work well. I just wanted a different look – sort of looks like
rain a bit.
The background paper is from the stash
and was glued together with a die cut paper rope hiding the seam. The sentiment
was stamped on a punched oval and the edges were inked in red. It was glued to
the bold hand cut banner.
That’s all for a lovely Monday, October
8, 2018.
Cheers
Violet
