Recycle an Old Card to a New Card

It was another dull and dreary day here today….seems like every day is just like that. I miss the sun. It’s a good job I have lots of indoor hobbies to keep myself busy. I worry about those that do not.

Today’s card is all about recycling.

I had another old unused Christmas card that was so pretty I just had to use it….altered, of course. The card started out as 5 ½” but I cut half the front of the card off. Then the portion of the card with the poinsettias was cut to the same size. The bird was stamped and coloured and hand cut. Then I cut around the top of the lowest red poinsettia and inserted the bird’s feet so it looked like he was sitting in the flowers. Then it was glued to the front panel.  The sentiment is a peel-off. The inside is even more interesting.

This card came with a matching envelope – huge envelope. I have no idea where it came from because friends are always dropping off cards for me to reuse. I just couldn’t toss this envelope into the recycling bin. It actually fit across the entire card so I glued the entire thing down. So pretty. Then I added the inside message that fits directly behind the front flap so it is not seen until you open the card.

That’s all for a pretty dull and boring day.

Cheers

Violet
